The diagram illustrates the method for preparing weather forecasts by Australian Bureau of Meteorology. The bureau collates information on minute basis from three sources to predict close to accurate weather patterns.
To begin with, the data from space satellites, on-ground radar centers and the drifting buoy in the sea, is used for Analysis and Forecasting. These provide graphical information about developing weather conditions through satellite captured images, projection on radar screen and synoptic chart.
The information is analysed and weather forecast is prepared on a computer to be broadcasted further. The broadcasting is done on three different mediums of communication, namely, the TV, where a newsreader provides weather report, the radio and lastly through telephone which plays a recorded announcements in Australian homes.
To conclude, the Australian Bureau of Meteorology uses three distinctive sources of technology for forecasting the weather and disseminates it amongst the population via popular mediums of communication.
