The chart depicts how often American residents go to eat in junk food restaurants from 2003 to 2013.
Among the majority of frequencies, there is a similar trend between the rate of several times a week and going there weekly, both increasing slightly first before falling back to around 16% and 28% respectively in 2013. By contrast, the proportion of people eating fast food once or twice a month had decreased to just 25% by 2006 before growing dramatically to approximately 33% by the end of this period.
On the other hand, as for the minority of frequencies, the percentage of people who opted to eat there every day almost halved, declining from 4% in 2003 to 2% in 2006 before leveling off. Besides, the frequency of never going saw a similar trend, falling between just 5% and around 4%, and then was unchanged till 2013. In contrast, the proportion of those only getting there a few times a year had risen to just 15% by 2006 before keeping constant.
Overall, more than three-quarters of people in the USA went where they ate fast food at least once or twice a month or even several times a week regardless of what period it is.
