The bar graph above illustrates the number of policy reports of three categories, theft, noise complaining, and traffic violations of Johnstown in 2016. Also, the graph below shows the shift of average temperature of the city in each month. Overall, the traffic violations was the most frequent among the three types of reports and it was relatively higher in the months when the average temperature was low. The number of theft reports jumped during summer where its temperature also reached the highest point.
Looking at the charts closely, it is obvious that the report about traffic violations marked the highest number in the city. In particular, from January to March, when the average temperature was the lowest, it reached the highest at about 180 cases. The range of traffic violation reports is about 30.
In addition to that, there was a notable increase in number of theft and it went to the highest point at about 148 reports in the period of July to September. The rise of temperature of the city certainly related to this jump, because the number of theft and the shifts of average temperature drew a similar curve in the two graphs, which is low in winter and high in summer.
Finally, the number of noise complains remained steady at below 25 reports and it seemed no relevancy with the temperature. It was lower than any other types of reports all over the time.
In conclusion, the reports about traffic violation was the highest throughout the year and by contrast, the noise complains was the lowest in whole year. In number of theft reports, there was a significant increase in summer. Average temperature influenced number of traffic violation and theft, but there was no clear connection with noise complains.
