An ailing patient should have easy access to his or her doctor’s record of treating similarly afflicted patients. Through gaining such access, the ailing patient may better determine whether the doctor is competent to treat that medical condition.
Many people suffer from discreet diseases, problems, or unfortunate conditions which might be due to one's negligence or due to some infelicitous situation they might have faced. We all want to lead a happy and healthy life and so we all seek want to get rid of our diseases or sufferrings, and hence we seek out for the doctors who are prominent in treating people or freeing them of their ailments. However, this doesn't mean that one should be made available a doctors record todecide a doctor's capability.
Doctors put a lot of effort and make use of their imbibings at medical schools in treating the people suffering from various ailment. Their intent is always to cater to the people's problems and giev them the best treament that they are aware of. Making a doctor's record available to people is not a great idea since at one stage it's not ethical or is disparaging a doctor on the grounds of his records, while on the other hand it won't be appropriate to reveal the informations regarding different people's predicaments. Why? Because we all are different. While some people might have no problem in their information getting revealed to other people who are also suffering from same disease, but oth other hand, some might find it impertinent and might want their information qualified to the records and concealed to others, apart from doctor.
Additionally, the records might not be a a right way of judging a doctor's acumen. let's suppose the record of treatment of afflicted patients is made available to others, then there can be two cases. In one case, if a doctor has more number of people who were attended by doctor but didn't get cured properly. Here ine may imply that the doctor who treated them is not a adroit in his treatment. However, this is not a good discerment from people. it might be the case that doctor adviced some pills to be taken on regular basis, but the ailing person didn't follow the doctor's advise properly or on a regular basis and so he/she couldn't get cured. In a very similar fashion, if a doctor's record depicts a number of patients who got well after attending a particular doctor, one can't jsut infer that this doctor is pretty good. Probably, a number of patients got well but may be due to some other doctors' prescriptions or some other natural ayurvedic treatments. So the records of a doctor might not be a good place to look in to arrive at a conclusion abpout a doctor's skill.
Though the aforementioned reason's are valid, however with a different perspective it can be asserted that a doctor's record might be fruitful in a indirect way. For instance, a patient suffering from chickenpox might not find the doctor's presciptions that he/she has been following to be effective. In such cases, getting information aboout other people suffering from a disease, they can get in touch with other who got cured. They can discuss with the cured people what other prescriptions they followed or did they attend some other doctor whose treatment might have proved more effective. In such a scenario it will be fruitful for people still suffering from same diseases to get rid of their problems or diseases.
Leading a healthy life is of utmost importance to everyone and for that people are ready to shed money to be cured, just that they get the right treatment. But, as I mentioned and reason above,
