The maps illustrate the information about the proposed development of the center of a small town called Islip in comparison with its current layout.
Overall, there are some significant changes in the center’s layout by adding a ring road around the center, a bus station, and a cark park. Also, more additional housing and a pedestrian lane will be constructed in the new town.
According to the current state of the town, there is the main road runs through the center from east to west, which is accessible to go to the school situated in the south-west and a park sited in the south-east of the town. The main area of the city is particularly surrounded by two ranges of shops, countryside and housing estates.
In the future plan of the town, it appears that the shops along the north side of the new pedestrian street will be demolished to make way for a bus station, shopping center, car park, and new housing area. The shops along the south side of the street will remain, but the park is planned to be relocated inside the pedestrian area and new houses and residential areas can be built within the ring road.
