The pie chart illustrates the causes of degradation of agricultural lands all over the world. The table gives information on the impact of these causes to the 3 regions of the world such as USA, Europe and Oceania in 1990’s and unit is being measured by percentile.
Overall, four major reasons are being compared why lands became less productive and the highest percentage goes to over-grazing which greatly affects Oceania. This was being followed by deforestation in which Europe was the mostly affected one.
Degradation of the agricultural soil in 1990’s was caused by grazing which shows 35% out of 100% while cutting of trees was the second reason and has 30%. Over- cultivation plays a part in 28%.
Europe was the mostly affected region and became the most degraded land which got 23% loss in all the mentioned causes of degradation. However, North America seems to be the least affected one as it only has 5% loss in its land productivity.
