The charts illustrate differences in Internet usage in five European countries and the spending on online shopping in the year 2000.
Overall, the percentage of the use of Internet in Sweden was higher than in the remaining countries. It is also clear that Spanish citizens spent the largest amount of money on shopping online.
The use of Internet in Sweden accounted for 35% of the total, followed by the figures for the United Kingdom and Germany, at 20% and 15% respectively. In comparison, 10% of the Internet was used by French people, which was twice as high as that of Spain.
On average, British citizens paid 87 euros on shopping online while the amount of money used for this activity in Spain was slower (76 euros). At the same time, 57 euros was the expenditure on shopping on the Internet in France in comparison with 46 euros in Germany. Regarding Spain, those living in this country only allocated 10 euros for online purchase.
