The given pictures illustrate the transformation of the center of the Islip town with the introduction of plans for development in the future.
Looking at the diagrams, it can be immediately seen that the town will witness a significant change with the most noticeable being the appearance of new facilities. Moveover, the programme will expand the road around the area to be more friendly to residents.
First of all, the present main road will be converted and expanded to the road for pedestrians only. To the North of the road, available shops will be enlarged into a shopping center, which is between newly-built bus station and car park. The only park of the town is going to be narrowed down to make way for the street.
Secondly, the country side zone in the top of the present map will be removed to make way for a novel dual carriageway circling the whole center of Isrish town. While shops in the South of the main road still remain unchanged, areas for housing is significantly enlarged to the North and South of the new street-for-walkers. In addition, the school on the westsouth corner and the housing area in the bottom of the map will be in initial locations after development.
