The table provides data about how five different cell phone brands, namely Nokia, Ericsson, Samsung, Motorola and Apple, sold their products from the they 2006 to 2012.
Overall, there are two clear trends visible. Nokia and Samsung were the two make the most sale over the period. Meanwhile, Ericsson and Motorola experienced a downward trend. Although there was no information about the first year, it is noticeable that Apple company sales growth surprisingly fast in 6 years.
In 2006, Nokia was the highest in term of sale with 345 million phones, and with 210 million sales, Motorola was the next leading firm. However, in the next 6 years, these two brands and Ericsson underwent a great decrease. In order words, after reached its peak at 475 million sales in 2008, Nokia figures dropped gradually and ended up at 335 million by the end of the period. Ericsson, starting with 74 million sales, and Motorola numbers followed the same pattern and winded up at exactly 28 million.
In contrast, there was a significant increase in Samsung and Apple figures. To be precise, starting with about half the sales of Motorola, Samsung numbers soared up sharply then became the one with highest sale in 2012 with almost 400 million. Whilst the figures of Apple in the first year was not recorded, it began with a humble number, 2.3 million in 2007. By the year 2010, this figure had exceeded the numbers of Ericsson and Motorola company, and in 2012 it was fivefold those two with 135.8 mobile phones sold.
