Overall, in town A, service-related jobs became more popular than other sectors and made up the biggest percentage, in 2010. Whereas, despite the growth of jobs in the service and sales sectors, the percentage of people working in manufacturing jobs dropped significantly but still represented the majority of jobs in Town B over the given period of time.
In 1960, the proportion of manufacturing-related jobs in town A was 41%, while the service and sales occupied lower percentage, at 29% and 30% respectively. After 5 decades, 64% people lived in town A worked as a service workers which increased substantially while the number rate of manufactures and sales sectors halved to 16% and 20%.
In town B, the rate of jobs related to manufacturing still accounted for a large proportion in spite of a considerable decline of nearly 20%. Additionally, sales-related jobs witnessed a marginal increase, from 20% to 22% in 2010. The percentage of service related jobs also rose from 10% in 1960 to 25% in 2010.
