The table below shows the percentage of the population by age groups in one town who rode bicycles in 2011.
The table compares the proportion of the population of one town cycled in 2011 which is divided into 5 categories.
In general, it can be seen that both females and males from age groups 0-9 took up half of the population. Another noticeable feature is that the percentage of all female age groups was higher than male groups.
For the age group of 0-9, the number of people from both genders had the highest percentage, 51,3% female and 50,3% male respectively; while this number was lower in the population of 10-17 age group of female, the percentage for the male group from 10 to 17 years old was half lower than 0 to 9 age group of male.
The figures for the age group of 18-39 and 40-59 were much lower. In the former group, 17% of women cycled, compared to nearly 10% of men. Between the ages of 40 and 59, the figures decreased further to 12% for women and 8 % for men. However, the percentage of the over 60 groups who rode bicycles rose significantly, reaching 18,5% and 13%, respectively.
