The graph below shows the consumption of fish and some different kinds of meat in a European country between 1979 and 2004.
The line graph reveals information regarding the weekly consumption of fish and some categories of meat in a European country over a period of 25 years in terms of grams per person.
It is worth noting that the consumption of chicken and beef witnessed the most significant changes as opposed to that of fish which saw the most stable trend throughout the period.
Despite being lower than that of beef and lamb in 1979, the consumption of chicken experienced a dramatic increase after overtaking beef, the highest at the start. It reached a high of 250 grams per person per week in 2004 when it became the highest of all.
On the other hand, the amount of both beef and lamb eaten declined considerably from 220 and 150 grams in 1979 to 110 and 60 grams in 2004, respectively although beef was consumed more than lamb over the period. In contrast, there was only a marginal drop of 10 grams in the figure for fish, which remained the least popular type of all.
