BAR CHART_WRITING TASK 1
The given bar chart depicts the destruction of students by gender across six art-based disciplines in particular in the United Kingdom in the year 2011.
Looking at the chart, it is immediately obvious that there are more females than males in most subjects with the exception of the Art and Design course. Another silent point is that the gender for each module was not significant, apart from Philosophy.
A glance at the graphs reveals that Linguistics, English language and Literature, and Communication and Media study took up the majority of number students in both cases. In 2011, the greatest percentage of students was in English language and Literature at around 250 females and 230 males. In addition, Linguistics ranked in second place with the number of almost 180 males and 240 females. Besides, the module of Communication and Media study attracted the third biggest number with the figure of females higher than males around 20 students.
It is clear from the chart that Art and Design, which was an exceptional subject, had just 20 additional students. Moreover, there was a dramatic high in the gender gap in Philosophy. Learners of History and Archaeology were around 90 males and 110 females.
