The aforementioned trend is most striking in Arab States and South Africa, where more than half of the female are illiterate. This statistic is closely followed by female population of Sub-Saharan Africa where approximately 48% of women can't read or write. Compared to male of the three regions, this figure is only around a third of the population.
On the other hand, the developed countries are able to provide a noticeably better learning for both genders with close to none of the population being illiterate. Larin America and Carribean regions bore the same trend as the percentages of both sexes stayed at around 10%. While East Asian and Oceanian men are able to have better learning environment as provided by the chart, one fifth of women are still suffering from illiteracy.
