The bar graph shows the distribution of family yearly incomes in the United States for three years 2007, 2011, and 2015.
Overall, it can be seen that the amount of money between $50,000 and $99,000 which was earned by US households remained stable, while the lowest and highest income groups saw increase trends over the period in question. Notably, the majority of US families could earn less than $50,000 a year.
In 2007, there were 25 million of family earning less than $25,000 in the United States. Despite the slight increase in 2011 to nearly $30,000, the figure then decreased marginally by about $2,000 four years later. The income bracket between $25,000 and $49,999 experienced a similar trend, which grew negligibly from $27,000 to $30,000 between 2007 and 2011 before dropping to roughly $28,000 in 2015.
Regarding the middle-income group from $50,000 to $74,999 and from $75,000 to $99,999, the data remained relatively stable across all three years that hovered around 20 million and 15 million respectively. Lastly, there was a minor fall from approximately $30,000 to about $25,000 in the income bracket exceeding $100,000 in 2007 and 2011. After that, the number of families went up considerably to nearly $35,000, this figure being the peak level of income during the whole period.
