The graph illustrates the changes that have taken place in the shares of spending on five different categories in the US, Canada, the UK, and Japan in 2009.
Overall, all the nations spent on food, housing, and transportation more than on health care and clothing. In addition, it was observed that housing was the most commonly chosen item throughout the year 2009.
Regarding food expenditure, Japan was the nation that paid money more than the other nations, at roughly 23%, whereas the figure in the US was lowest at about 14% in 2009. Instead, the figure in the US increased to 26% for the housing category. Transportation witnessed the most spending by Canada, which was 20%.
In terms of health care and clothing, both two categories were not paid much by the four nations. While leading the expenditure in health care system was the US, at about 7%, Canada with 6% in spending on clothing, turned into the most spending nation.
