The bar chart below shows the number of students who chose certain university subjects in 2005
The bar graph represented the number (in thousands) of students taking particular subjects at their university.
Overall, we can obviously see from the chart that it grouped the students according to subjects and then divided into males and females.
There were quite different numbers of males choosing subjects. The number of boys taking subjects ranged from the highest of just over 20 thousand to the lowest of under 5 thousand. Sciences were the subjects more chosen by males than females. Meanwhile, Languages had less choice of boys than girls.
In terms of females, the student numbers differed fairly from males. The number of girls choosing subjects ranged from the highest of just under 25 thousand to the lowest of slightly below 5 thousand. Social Sciences had the most choices of females than males while Mathematics had the least ones and less than males in Mathematics.
Besides, Humanities had the same numbers of students choosing it in terms of males and females.
