The line graph describes detailed information about rural and urban global population along with different age groups during the year 1950 to 2040. Units are measured in percentage.
Overall, the total number of people especially 15 to 65years of age groups shows dramatic increase over the given period.
To begin with the trends in population, urban citizens was mere 5% in 1950, which steadily increased by the following years and reached about over 35% at the end of the graph. On the other hand, even though total global population rose significantly to 45% from 10%, the people in rural areas remained almost same with around 5% from 1950 to 2040.
Regarding the changes in the age demographic, as compared to below 15 and over 65years, the middle aged groups was surged sharply to 35% from 6% in 1950. Children below 15 was started with 3% in 1950 and gradual grows to 5% in 1960, then it shows slight fluctuation and ends in approximately 6% in 2040. Likewise, elder people also undergone mild variation in early years the trends stabilised with 5% over the given years.
