Overall, it is clear that both England and its capital London saw increases in housing expenses over the period shown in the chart. Additionally, the price of housing in London and the southern areas is much higher than in other areas.
In 1995, England and London spent on housing expenses, at 130 000 and 200 000 respectively. By 2013, the figure for England had risen considerably to over 400 000 while that for London had nearly doubled to 200 000.
In the year 2013, London spent the highest amount of money on house expenses, at 400000, followed by the South East and South West region, at over 300 000 and around 270000 respectively. However, there was a cheaper house price in the North West area, at 200000, which was halves of that in North East and Midlands.
