The chart and graph below give information about participants who have entered the Olympics since it began

The bar chart and the line graph demonstrate about the number of participants in the Olympics classified by gender and outline its trend from the beginning of 1924 to the end of 2012.
Overall, it is clear that the proportion of male participants greatly outnumbered female participants and the upward trends for partaking in the Olympics seemed to soar progressively until the end of the period.
The first chart indicates that in 1924, exactly 3000 men joined the competition while the number of women in the same year was too mere to state the accurate statistic. 24 years later, more men were interested in entering the Olympics that the number went up substantially to nearly 4500 and continue to soar rapidly to over 5000 people in 1984. The quantity of female contestants also showed a considerable increase when it had risen from approximately 500 to 1500 people between 1952 and 1984. The year 2012 witnessed the most significant boom ever when women entering the competition skyrocketed steeply by 3300 contestants in just 28 years whereas the growth in male participants was moderately lower( increased by nearly 800 people)
Turning to the graph which outlined that the development of Olympics participant had gone up upwardly from 1924 to 1984, reaching the point of nearly 7000 contestants before drastically shot up to its peak at the end of the period with 10000 people recorded.
