Essay topics:

The chart below shows figures for attendances at hospital emergency care departments in Northern Ireland by age group in December 2016 and December 2017.

The given bar chart reveals the age groups in Northern Ireland who attended the emergency department at a hospital in december 2016 and december 2017.

Overall, it can be observed that the oldest age group and the youngest age group had taken the majority population who attended emergency care in both periods. Other age groups, on the other hand, had small populations of attendance to emergency care compare to former groups.

To begin with, the age group who had attended to emergency care most is by far the aged 75 and over (between 60,000 and 70,000 people) in both december 2016 and december 2017. As well as this, the youngest group (under age 5) had taken up the second-biggest number of emergency patients (50,000 to 60,000 people) in both periods.

To my surprise, there are similar numbers of attendance in emergency care between aged 16-44 and aged 65-74 around 30,000 to 35,000 people in these periods while the aged 5-15 had taken up the smallest number of emergency patients at only 20,000 to 25,000 people.
