The bar chart compares the top five mobile phone brands in terms of global sales in three years 2009, 2011 and 2013.
Overall , Samsung, Apple, ZTE saw the upward trend over the period shown while Nokia and LG experienced the opposite trend. In 2009 and 2011 , Nokice ranked the first , but then it was replaced by Samsung in 2013.
In 2009, 225 million Samsung phones were sold while Nokia sold nearly 450 million phones. Two years later, the number of Samsung phones being sold increased to 325 million while Nokia witnessed a slight decrease of global phone sales but still ranked the first brand with 410 million phones. However, Samsung became the most attractive brand in 2013, with 450 million phones sold while the figure for Nokia dropped to 250 million
In 2009 , Apple and ZTE sold under 50 million phones each while 125 million LG phones were sold. However, during the following 4 years, LG then saw a moderate decrease in the mobile phone sales, reaching 1 million in 2013 while Apple increased significantly , with 150 million phones and ZTE increased slightly with over half a million phones sold in 2013.
