The chart below shows the number of men and women (in thousand) in further education in Britain in three periods and whether they were studying full-time or part-time.

Depicted by bar graphs is the information about the number of student (in thousand) studying full-time or part-time at the university in Britain during 30-year period since 1970/71.

Overall we can see that the number of part-time student increased, while the figure for full-time student experienced a downward trend in male categories. Moreover, there was an ascending trend in the number of full-time and part-time female student over the time frame.

Regarding the main graph, the figure for part-time student climbed by almost 100% from roughly 100 to 200. By contrast, the number of full-time student decreased slightly from approximately 1000 to 900 during the period.

Turning to female categories, there was similar trend in the number of full-time and part-time student which saw a rise. While the former inclined significantly from 700 to 1100 – the highest figure shown on graph, the latter witnessed a gradual increase by almost 150% to 150.
