The chart shows the percentage of who passing the driving test by genders in one Asian nation from 1980 to 2010.
Overall, one can see that over the span of 30 years, the proportion of women passing the driving test remains consistently higher than that of men. Between 2000 and 2010, there are some slight drops in women's figures while those of men stay constant.
Looking at the chart more closely, it is apparent that approximately 50 percent of women passing the driving test in first 10-year period, accounting for nearly two times higher than men do. Nevertheless, the gap is getting narrowed down when the proportion of men passing the driving test shows a gradual growth year by year. From 1990 to 2000, the number of male passed driving examinees rises steadily, representing roughly 40 percent in 1990 and 50 percent in 2000. Which means it is double the 1990-period figures over the course of 20 years and a similar trend is seen in 2010. By contrast, after showing a notable surge in the numbers of women passed driving examinees during 2000, which is capturing nearly 70 percent, the figures start to make some slight changes in next 10 years. It is clear that there is an insignificant fall in women whereas that of men continually remain stable.
