It is noticeable that more sodium and saturated fat are consumed by dinner. By contrast, snacks account for the vast majority of added sugar absorbed.
In sodium and saturated fat nutrients catalogues, dinner makes up 43% and 37% of nutrients consumption. While there is only 23% of added sugar consumed. The opposite trend can be seen when we look at breakfast meals. The same proportion of saturated fat and added sugar are consumed in the first meal of the day, which is 2% higher than the figure for sodium nutrient.
Such dramatic differences are not seen when we compare the percentages for lunch nutrients absorbed. More sodium and saturated fat are consumed by lunch, with 29% and 26% respectively, only 19% of added sugar is absorbed in American lunch. A massive of 42% added sugar is consumed in additional meals, but only 16% of saturated fat consumption, which is 2% lower than the figure for sodium.
