The pie charts compare the household expenditure spent for 5 catergories of activities in the UK and New Zealand over the period of 28 years, starting from 1980.
Overall, there was a small rise in proportions of utility bills in both two nations during the period shown, but the costs served for food and drink fell respectively. In 2008, UK residents spening budgets for recreation purpose rose.
It is clear that the citizens in the said countries pulled out by far more money for ulitization over 28 years, from 23% to 28% in the UK and from 27% to 31% in the New Zealand. In the contrary, the figure for those two subjects in food and drink consumption decreased slightly by full 10% in the UK and by 4% in the remaining counterpart in 2008.
From the picture above showing the UK spending in the year of 2008, we can see that recreation-related cost of these households accounted for the highest percentage of 34%, which made up approximately one third of that pie chart relatively. At the same time,the statistics standing for transport cost dropped insignificantly by only 1% in both countries, while the altogether expenditure increased marginally.
