The diagram below shows the floor plan of a public library 20 years ago and how it looks now.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
The diagram illustrates the changes to the layout of a central library over a 20-year period. Overall, it is clear that the changes happened in every corner of the library. More well-equipped facilities have been established to improve the public service for the citizens.
Looking at the map closely, one can see that tables and chairs in the middle of the floor have been moved away, making the library corridor more spacious. The CDs, videos, and computer games room in the left corner has been changed to the children's fiction books area with two sofas arranged diagonally and the stage for storytelling events. The adult fiction books area has been moved to the opposite of the library and replaced by all reference books. The reading room for newspapers and magazines on the left of the entrance has been changed to the computer room.
The children's books area in the right corner has been moved and changed to the lecture room for tutoring and studying. The enquiry desk for buying tickets and returning books has been replaced by the café and changed to the information desk which is between the adult fiction books area and self-service machines.
