The diagram below shows the floor plan of a public library 20 years ago and how it looks now.
The figure illustrates the floor plan of central library now and how it looked two decade earlier.
In the past, there were two circular table having eight chairs each located right in the centre, visible just by stepping inside the library. On the right there was enquiry desk to help with general library rekated inquiries and task. The section allocated to reading newspapers and magazines was located on the other side of enquiry desk just last the entrance, whereas area to read childrens book was to the northern side of the desk right next to non-fiction books of adults. Straight towards west of the non-fiction area there was adult fiction books , and on its north was the room allocated to computer games , cds and videos.
Central library now is more organized and is filled with features ans services. After entering the library we can see cafe on the right and computer room on its left. Moving few steps north from the entrance on its right adult non fiction books is moved further up to the north, and information desk as well as self service machine ia added to manage the empty space. Nearest room from the fiction book did consist of children book that is now converted to lecture room. The place having computers on the top left is extended and converted to interactive storytelling room where events happen from time to time. The books are arranged on the left of the door entering the room, whereas two sofas are positioned on the two diagonal area to the top left and the right buttom section of the room. All reference books replaced adult fiction books and the center area js open consistiong of no seating area like in the past.
Overall, the beautifully planned central library is equipped wirh modern facilities and rooms are assigned to make interactive learning possible.
