The diagram below shows the manufacturing process for making sugar from sugarcane.
The given figure illustrates the preparation process for making sugar from sugarcane. Sugar is produced from sugarcane in seven steps that include growing, harvesting, crushing, purifying, evaporating, centrifuging and drying, and cooling.
At first, sugarcanes are grown for about 12-18 months. Then, they are cut down and harvested. In the third step, crushing of the sugarcane is done through a machine and juice is produced that comes out in the liquid form. After that, the purification of juice is done through a limestone filter. The filtrate part is then passed into the evaporator where heat is given from the bottom of the vessel. The resulting outcome after evaporating will be syrup. Centrifugation is the next step, here the sugar crystals are separated from the syrup. The final step is drying and cooling. In this phase, sugar crystals are dried and then cooled. Hence, the cooled sugar is packed and made ready for marketing. These are the processes involved in the manufacturing methods of sugar.
