The graph taken from a 2008 report gives an insight into energy consumption trends of different fuel types starting from 1980
and ending up 2030.
Overall, the primary source of energy was petrol and oil which are expected to continue its dominance over the shown period,
whereas nuclear, solar/wind, and hydropower sources are always among the least preferable source of energies.
Considering petrol and oil energies in details, although their values fluctuated between 30 and 35 quadrillion units until 1995,
it increased unabated until 2008 and is anticipated to continue this stable rise.
Showing moderate preference among all the energy sources, consumption of coal had been increasing since 1980 which was followed by
a constant trend from 1995, whereas that of natural gas fluctuated around 20 quadrillion units. When it comes to expectations,
coal was projected to rise to approximately 32 quadrillion units, however, no any change was anticipated for the latter one.
Regarding the least favorable energy sources, all could be observed from solar/wind and hydropower was fluctuations around nearly
4 quadrillion units, while nuclear power consumption gradually increased to 8 quadrillion units. According to report, stagnation period
of these three energy sources was expected in the future .
