Over a 31-year period, the price of fresh fruits and vegetables, despite some marginal drop periodically, witnessed a dramatic rise, peaking at around 340 in 2008 before falling by 10 in 2009. A similar but smoother pattern can be seen in the price for sugar and sweets, which rose gradually until reaching its peak of 200 in 2009.
Similarly, the price of carbonated drinks rose stably but at a lower pace than that of sugar and sweets, from about 70 in 1079 to just over 150 in the year 2009. Regarding consumer-price index, it also saw a considerable increase of nearly 300, reaching about 210 in the end of the period.
