The line graph compares the average amount of UK workers using three different forms of transport over period of 60 years.

It can be seen from the graph that car is the far most popular means of transport in UK through out the period shown. The figures of commuters use car and train increase gradually, while the number of bus users dropped steadily.

In the beginning of the period, 1970, about 5 million UK commuters traveled by car for daily work. Bus and train were used by 4 million and 2 million commuters respectively. In the year 2000, the number of those driving to work increased to about 7 million users per day and the figure of rail passengers reached 3 million. However, there was a slight decline of approximately 0.5 million in the number of bus users.

By 2030, it is expected that the number of people who commute by car will rose dramatically to 9 million, and the number of train passengers is also predicted to grow, at about 5 million. On the other hand, buses are forecasted to become a less popular choice, with only 3 million daily users.
