The chart illustrates the amount of four different food products consumed in a European nation from 1979 to 2004.
Overall, it is clear that fish was least eaten food in the European country during the period. Also, the expenditure on beef, lamb and fish descreased, while the consumption of chicken increased.
By 1979, the amount of beef which was eaten was highest, at 220 grams per person per week. The number for chicken and lamb were lower, at over 140 and 150 grams, respectively. However, fish made up the lowest figure with only about 60 grams.
Throughout the period, the nation saw a considerable rise in the consumption of chicken, at over 250 grams in 2004. In contrast, there was a fluctuating fall to 110 grams for beef, compared with about 60 grams for lamb. Although, the amount of fish eaten stayed stable during the period, there was still a slightly drop to about 50 grams in 2004.
