The graph below shows the number of overseas visitors to three different areas in a European country between 1987 and 2007.
The line graph illustrates the figure for foreign travellers to three different zones of one European country in the period from 1987 to 2007.
Overall, the number of overseas visitors to three regions all increased during most of the period, though some fluctuations. The lake and the mountain were destinations which most visited by international tourists.
In the year 1987, there were 40.000 visitors went to the coast. This figure was higher than the number of overseas tourists paid a visit to series 3 and the lakes and mountains, at 20.000 and 10.000 respectively. By 2002, the number of people who travelled to the coast rose to 62.000. However, this was overtaken by the figure for those who visited the lakes and mountains, which increased dramatically to reach a peak of 75.000. In addition, there was a fluctuation in the figure for people travelling to series 3 and reaching around 25.000 in 2002.
Between 2002 and 2007, the numbers visiting the lakes and mountains declined steadily to about 66.000 at the end of the period. After peaking at 75.000, the figure for visitors from abroad to the coast went down to 55.000 in 2007. By contrast, series 3 saw an upward trend in the number of foreign visitors and reached a peak of 35.000 in 2007.
