The graph below shows the number of shops that closed and the number of new shops that opened in one country between 2011 and 2018

The graph illustrates the trend in the amount of closing and opening at a particular country in a range of years from 2011 to 2018.
In 2011, about 6400 shops closed, with the number varying mildly over the following three years. Next year, the figure became the lowest at about 600 store closures then rising back to approximately 5200 locations in the following year. In addition, the figure for closing shops remain stable at around 5000 from 2016 to 2018.
On the other hand, almost 8500 new stores announced in 2011. The number of openings then fell considerably to about half that amount the following year while increased significantly to over 6000 in 2014. In the next three years of the term, this figure dropped to the 2012 level and fluctuated slightly for the two years before falling to 3000 at the end of the period.
Overall, there several fluctuations in the changing of announcements and closures of shops throughout eight years.
