The graph below shows the number of tourists visiting a Caribbean island between 2010 and 2017
The line graph illustrates the changes in the number of visitors going to a Caribbean island, over a seven-year period from 2010 to 2017. Overall, what stands out from the graph is that there were upward trends in all researched categories. Noticeably, the number of tourists staying on island outnumbered that on cruise ships in the first five years.
In particular, when it comes to visitors staying on cruise ships, the figure fluctuated between 0.3 and 0.5 million in the first four years. Afterwards, the graph witnessed a dramatic growth of roughly 1.7 million tourists in the figure in 2017, which exceeded the number of tourists staying on island.
In terms of people staying on island, the figure remained stable at approximately 0.7 million visitors in 2010 and 2011 before rising significantly to 1.5 million people in 2013. At this point, the number levelled off at 1.5 million until 2015 and declined slightly by around 0.3 million in 2016. After that, the year 2017 experienced a rise to 1.5 million in the figure in 2017.
Concerning total numbers of visitors, the number stood at 1 million in 2010, then increased steadily to reach 3.5 million people in the last year.
