The graphs below show the types of music albums purchased by people in Britain according to sex and age.
Write a report for a university lecturer describing the information shown below.
The bar charts compare the proportion of British people who buy different genres of music albums namely pop music, rock music and classical music according to genders and various age groups.
Overall, it can clearly be seen that the percentage of male listeners was higher than that of females in all three types of music albums. Another striking feature is that pop and rock music were the most famous genres of music for teenagers and adults from 16 to 34 years old while classical music attracted 45+-years-old groups and pop music accounted for the lowest percentage (around 1%).
In terms of pop music, nearly one third were male listeners and 20% were female listeners while rock music made up more than 30% and 15% respectively from both genders. From the age of 16 to 34, around 30% of listeners were pop and rock fans while those genres took up less than 20% from 35 to 45+-years-old groups. In contrast, elderly people from 45+-years-old groups were familiar with classical music, which made up approximately 20% and followed by 25 to 34-years-old groups, accounting for 15%. Both other age groups (16 to 24-years-old, 35 to 44-years-old) took up the minor percentage (1% and 2% respectively).
