The maps illustrate how the village called Ryemouth changed from 1995 up to present.
It is clear that the village has developed hurriedly between 1995 and now. The initial impression from the maps is the disappearance of vast green space as well as the fishing port. In addition, the village’s infrastructure has been renovated while introducing some extra facilities including housing, recreation and dining.
Looking at the 1995 map, there were a large farmland and a forest park located in the north eastern region of the village. However, they were completely destroyed to give way for a spacious golf course as well as two tennis courts at the moment. Going along the road to the south, there is a hotel and a café which have remained unchanged since 1995 while they erected a band new car park at the right side of the hotel.
Furthermore, the modification of housing amenity is also a considerable point when talking about the Ryemouth over this period. In the north, two housing rows besides the main road, have been spreaded with the appearance of two fresh ones. A new roadway has been added passing the housing square area and in that route, two houses have been constructed. The south west part of the village witnesses a rapidly development, too. The shops and fishing market have been replaced by restaurants and apartments corresponding.
Finally, the fishing port no longer exists in Ryemouth now.
