The maps below show the centre of a small town called Islip as it is now, and plans for its development.
The pictures compare the current structure and the future design of a small town so-called Islip.
Overall, the town has changed considerably with the construction of a dual carriageway around the residental areas. Various other developments with respect to shops and housing contribute to the more convenient structure of the town.
Looking at the details of Islip in the planned development, we can see that there is a pedestrian only relative to the disappearance of the main road. It is also noted that traffic will be transformed on to a dual carriageway instead of the main road.
On the North of the township, currently there is a row of shops along with the side of the main road. However, shops are expected to be converted into the bus station, shopping centre, car park and new housing while the countryside will no longer exist.
On the South of the town, shops are expected to remain their positions while it seems that the park will be reduced in size. It appears that more new housing will be built within the ring road.
