Percentage of pupils who passed their final exams (1993)
A glance at the bar chart reveals the figures of students in both gender by percentages, sailing through their final examinations in 9 different subjects in 1993.
In general, girls seemed to be excellent at social science while it was natural science that boys were expert at.
To begin with, it is obvious that pupils always excelled in Maths and English that both gender recorded a considerable figure of approximately 40%, especially in English, female ranked their highest data of 61.5%. However, having constituted virtually 10%, neither boys nor girls got satisfying results in natural science subject (Physics, Chemistry and Biology).
As can be seen from the chart, it is the natural science and technical subject that boys did slightly better than girls. It was depicted by a significant gap of 8% in Technology and trivial portions of ranging from 2% to almost 5% in these 3 natural subjects.
Meanwhile, female were more proficient at social science than boys, which was vividly illustrated by the data of English, French and History, making some significant differences of 17.1%, 12.5% and 6.5% respectively.
