Essay topics:

The pie charts below show units of electricity production by fuel source in Australia and France in 1980 and 2000.

Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons where relevant.

Given are the four pie charts contrasting the figure of electricity units generated by five distinct fuel sources in Australia and France in 2 disparate years: 1980 and 2000.
Perceptibly, coal was employed the most in Australia to produce electricity while nuclear power was by far the most prevalent source of fuel used by France over the years.
In Australia, 50 units of electricity were produced by coal in the year 1980, while natural gas and hydropower contributed a corresponding part of 20 units, which was half higher than the figure made by oil. However, after 2 decades, the disproportion in units generated by these fuel sources was greater when 130 units were recorded by coal, followed by 36 units from hydropower. Meanwhile, merely 2 units of the aggregate were produced by oil and natural gas.
Strikingly, France took advantage of nuclear power in manufacturing electricity, which was not registered in Australia. This source also achieved an exponential leap in the figure of electricity produced from only 15 in the first year to 126 in 2000. Conversely, an opposite pattern was documented in the units made by hydropower and natural gas when the figure diminished greatly to only 2 from 5 and 25 units respectively. Astonishingly, coal and oil both ranked second in producing electricity in France over the mentioned years with identically 25 units recorded in 2000.
