Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons where relevant.

The pie charts compare patterns of Electricity Generation between Germany and France in 2009, and it is measured in billions kWh. Overall, it can be seen that conventional thermal took up the lion's share in Germany, whereas nuclear was the main source of electricity in France.
In Germany, the total output was 560 billion kWh, came mostly from conventional thermal at 59,6% accounting for more than a half of total proportion while the proportion of electricity generated from nuclear power was only 23,0%, only one-fifth of the total types. In contrast to Germany, the total output of France was lower at 510 billion kWh, came mostly from nuclear power at 76,0% while conventional thermal was not a major source with only 10,3% was used.
Moving on to renewables which accounted for quite similar proportion for both countries at 17,4% in Germany and at 13,7% in France. Renewable energy consisted of biomass (39,3%) and wind (36,9%) were used mostly to produce electricity in Germany, which was far higher than hydroelectric (17,7%) and solar (6,1%). A reversed pattern was applied to France, where hydroelectric made up 80,5% of renewable energy whereas just a modest share of the total proportion was allocated for biomass and wind, never exceeding more than a fifth in total.
