The table illustrates the data about rail transport in the UK, USA, and Italy in the year 2007.

As is presented in the table, Japan had the highest number of people using rail transport excluding metro with 5.9% of total passengers while there was a lower percentage of passengers in America at 0.3%. Meanwhile, the proportion of people utilizing rail transport in Italy and Britain were 5.9 and 5.5 respectively.

In terms of passenger kilometers per head of population, again Japan was in the top list among four countries with 1,980 passengers which is followed by Italy reaching 780 passengers. In contrast to this, America had a least number of passengers at 80. However, the most significant country was America regarding cargo carried which comprised of 2,820 billions tons whereas Italy was the least significant country as it made up 21.9 billions tons cargo.

Overall, the data of Italy and Britain were almost similar in all three category. Likewise, America was higher in number of passenger using rail transport and passenger kilometers per head of population except cargo carried where it was in second position
