two charts
The bar chart, combined with the pie, gives an overall view about how people in Glasgow, a city in Scotland, studied at different levels (by age groups and by genders) in the year 2010.
Overall, what stands out from the graphs is that while the figures of young people choosing university were the highest, the percentages of men and women were nearly the same.
In details, as regards the bars, we can see that university was the most popular choice for people aged under 50, with the 24-35 age group accounting for 76%. Next came school certificate, making up around 20 %. No qualification, meanwhile, evenly took up the remaining 9%. From 50 years old, people had more interest choosing school certificate or did not have qualification. In particular, 72% those who were over 75 years old did not possess any certificate, as opposed to 25% who had university degree in the same group.
Taking the pie chart, the percentage of people who had no qualifications took up the lion’s share in both women and men, with 38% and 35% respectively. Finally, other two categories, school and university, were chosen by around 30% percent by either men or women.
