The bar chart shows the percentage of school children learning to play four different musical instruments (violin, guitar, piano, drums) in 2005, 2010, 2015.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

The bar chart illustrates the proportion of students learning to play 4 types of musical instruments namely violin, guitar, piano and drums in 3 years 2005, 2010 and 2015.

Overall, the figure for piano, drums and guitar increased in the 10-year period, while the opposite was seen in the violin category. Moreover, the percentage of children studying guitar surpassed that of the piano and led the rate of students learning musical instruments.

In 2005, The percentage of students learning piano and guitar was nearly the same, which stood at 13% and 12% respectively. The data of piano category accounted for 20% in 2010, whilst that of guitar was slightly lower, which was 18%. However, the order changed in 2015 with the leading percentage of students learning guitar. It exceeded 40%, higher than that of piano by 3%.

It is obvious that the rate of students learning violin gradually decreased throughout the 10-year period, starting at 9% in 2005 and becoming the least popular choice in 2015 with the figure for 5%.
