A friend, who lives in another country, has invited to you come and stay with him/her on your next holiday. You are too busy to accept the invitation. Write a letter to your friend. In your letter:
– thank him/her for the invitation
– explain why you cannot come
– give him/her your other news

Dear David,

I’m writing with regards to your invitation to come vacation with you this auturm.

I really do appreciate the kind gesture because it shows you value our friendship despite our quarrels and misunderstandings.

Unfortunately, I’ll be unable to come over to Iceland due to busy work schedules. Let me explain in detail. My company recently won some juicy training contracts with tight deadlines. If you remember clearly, I’m the only graphics designer here and I am required to edit all training slides. As at the last count I had sixty pending slides to be submitted next month. With this situation, I have no chance of going on an holiday this year. Frustrating i must say.

Could you let me know if you want me to come next year? If yes, i have two dates in mind .The first is the 25th of March reason being that I would love to attend the annual winter games slated for that date. Also, i am considering 30th June during the summer to explore the Icelandic country side with you and your brother. Any of those dates is fine by me.Do let me know, via text, which one you prefer.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Your friend,

Femi.
