You live in an English speaking country and you want to do some voluntary, unpaid work in a developing country. Write a letter to a company called Cultural Expeditions, which organizes such trips. In your letter:
• Explain why you want to do the voluntary work.
• State what your skills and experience are.
• Indicate where you would like to volunteer and for how long.

Dear Sir,

I am Alex Jhonson, avid reader of your weekly and recently saw your advertisement inviting applications for unpaid community services in developing nations. I am keen on joining your program and thereby sharing a few details related to my work experience and interests.

I am student at North Carolina University, my second semester is about to end in a couple of weeks, post which I will to dedicate my time for voluntary work. I am willing to spend my holidays this summer constructively, hence looking forward to contribute for social welfare. Additionally, I want to gain practical experience for the concepts I have learnt at the college on water restoration for irrigation purposes.

Being a bilingual, I am confident of conversing in Hindi. Besides the bilingual skill, I have prior background in handling assignments on water restoration with focus towards resolving issues associated with farming.

Considering the fact that I am well-versed in the language, I would prefer working in India. Additionally, the country is rain-fed, which further inclines me towards choosing the country for my intended activity. Assuming the time required for plantation and harvesting of crop, time span of 6 months will be sufficient.

Looking forward for your response.

Yours Faithfully,
Alex Jhonson
