Today, advertising has become major asset of marketing industry. Though some people argue that, advertisements motivate people to purchase unnecessary products while other says that commercial breaks provide us information about new products which are launched in the market. I think, advertisements play a vital role in people’s life by updating their knowledge about variety of products available but, at the same time we cannot ignore its drawbacks.
Firstly, most of the companies use advertises as their marketing strategy to inform their customers about products available in the shops. When Customers see those adverts on television or on internet or in the newspaper, they get close idea about the product. People can compare same category products by watching advertise and they can choose best one as per their requirement. For example, if customer wants to buy some biscuits he can choose it from variety as per his needs. Secondly, when people visit supermarket they can identify the product from the advertisement. An advertisement not only updates customer’s knowledge about goods, but also informs them about Supermarket sales and discounts availability. This allows buyers to shop in their budget.
Commercial breaks have captured almost every aspect of media, which allows everyone to watch it. It influences all age group people but, children are over influenced. Many children demand for toys or object decorated with their favourite characters. I think this is one of the biggest drawbacks. Similarly, many people just believe in advertisement and bring products without its actual nutritious value.
In conclusion, advertising products benefit both company as well as customers. In spite of having some drawbacks advertisements keep updating knowledge of people about new and old products in the market and help people to choose best product.

Advertisement plays a very
Advertisement plays a very major role in marketing. There has always been a debate between people supporting advertisement,
suggesting that it helps to gain knowledge regarding new products which furthur improves peoples lifestyle. Whereas other
argues that, such advertisements leads to people in buying things that are not really needed. I think the later one
oughtweights the initial one, i will discuss both the points in my essay and will try to make my point clear.
Advertisements are everywhere in different forms like in Newspapers, Billboards, Radios, Commercial breaks etc. All of
them play a major role in influencing people all around the world. Every Business wants to generate a big revenue
for their product, so no doubt they will craft their adverts in a very attractive and fancy way. The commercial breaks
have gained a lot of attention recently, especially for marketing of toys, which attracts children. Children do not
understand the cost, they only see their favourite characters and will want to buy that toy which becomes a big problem
for the parents as they are very pricey.
Digital marketing has increased in last few decades immensely. Ambassadors representing products are mainly
popular film stars, whose fan following is very high. Most of the people, especially the young generation, ends in buying
those things unnecessarily, as they are represented by their favourite celebrity. For example lets take a simple product
like Razor, Sharukhan has been promoting Gillete Razor which costs around 500-700 rupees, and on the other hand
there are other razors available in the market for 150-250 rupees, so most of the youngsters will want to buy the
gillette product just because their favourite star is favouring it. In reality we dont even know if our superstars
are using it at all. The major concern comes when there is a demand for the product which is very costly like bike, cars etc.
On the other hand there are some informative advertises too, that help in selecting the right product in terms of quality
as well as money. The mouth watering advertisements created by supermarkets offering great deals during some time in
a year is very helpful to plan ones budget accordingly. Also, some vaccine related adverts help to gain the knowledge
for that particular disease. For example, recently only theres been a campaign for ovarian cancer vaccines, this can
be really helpful and proves to be very informative.
So i know that the advertisement do play an important role in helpig to know some important products that can help us to
chance our life, but on the contrary its disadvantages outweights its advantages. So i agree with the people believing
advertising is a way of making people to buy unnecessary products.
