Do you agree or disagree with the statement that people should always tell the truth?
I agree with the assessment about people should always tell the truth.
First, in everyday life, people tend to believe what we talk about. The main reason for this is trust between person to person. It is a disrespect for the oponent to tell a lie.
However, I admit that in some circumstances, truth is not always the best option. For instance, we can tell some false statement to relieve a nervous person. However, he or she will someday will find the truth, which may lead to deeper confusion.
Finally, being truthful may benefit you in a long term. You can lie to get away from certain circumstances, but when your lie gets blown out, the result may become devastating.
In conclusion, for these three reasons, I think people should always tell the truth for their own benefits.
