It is more important to keep your old friends than to make new friends.
Friends are quite important in one's life. Life without a friend is same as food without salt ,that is, tasteless . Friends are the one after family that are near and dear to you and with whom you share most of the time. Personally I believe that it is better to be with old friends rather than making new friends.I feel this way for two reasons which I will explore in the following essay.
First of all, old friends know our nature,our likes and dislikes,so they would mostly help us in difficult times and they know how to rejoice our mind when we are sad.My own experience is a compelling example of this,during my high school I failed in chemistry exam and I was quite depressed as this was the first time I had failed in any subject. My friend named Raju, who lives in my neighborhood is a very good and old friend of mine figured this out and helped me to get out of my depression. He motivated me by stating my past accomplishments and told that rather than being depressed you should put up your socks to tackle further challenges. He told me that 'Failures are the stepping stones to success'. Instead of crying in for my past failures I should learn from my failures and try to improve them. I really got motivated that day by the words of my friend and till now my academics performance is good and consistent.
Secondly, old friends are more reliable than new friends. As the world consists of many strangers we could not identify the hidden intention behind the person.So in today's world it is quite risky to make a new friend as they can exploit us and merely just make use of us for their benefits. For instance, my classmate had recently made a new friend and knowing that my classmate is rich that new friend somehow figured it out from my classmate about where he keeps his money and precious things. That new friend of my classmate robbed his house and stole all the things that my classmate stated him. Another example would be one of my old friend, Brijesh, who during a walk saw my wallet has by mistakenly fallen on the ground from my back pocket and he reported it to me rather than stealing it as wallet contained a large amount of cash. This shows us that old friends are quite reliable and can be trusted.
In conclusion, I strongly believe to keep the friendship strong with old friends rather than making new friends. This is because old friends know our behavior and past very well and would be help us during our bad times and old friends are also reliable and can be trusted compared to new friends.

---------------------
Better to have 5 paragraphs with 3 arguments. And try always support/against one side but compare two sides, like this:
para 1: introduction
para 2: reason 1. address both of the views presented for reason 1
para 3: reason 2. address both of the views presented for reason 2
para 4: reason 3. address both of the views presented for reason 3
para 5: conclusion.
So how to find out those reasons. There is a formula:
reasons == advantages or
reasons == disadvantages
for example, we can always apply 'save time', 'save/make money', 'find a job', 'make friends', 'get more information' as reasons to all essay/speaking topics.
or we can apply 'waste time', 'waste money', 'no job', 'make bad friends', 'get bad information' as reasons to all essay/speaking topics.
